Single Anemone - print from an original watercolour by Kay Elliot

Kay Elliott started painting in 1997. With no training she is the third generation of painters following in the footsteps of her father Rolf Hellberg and his father Helge Hellberg. Brought up in an artistic environment Kay dabbled with many creative pastimes, but only found her real vocation with her free flowing water colour flower paintings. She is fascinated by the complex structure of flowers, and excited by their beauty. Spontaneous, fresh and contemporary but carefully observed, her work has been likened to that of Dame Elizabeth Blackadder R.A., O.B.E. Creating the balance between the delicacy of petals and their intensity of colour seems to come easily to her -producing paintings that are both decorative and beautiful, with gorgeous colours and elegant forms.
