This picture vividly captures the characteristics of a young hare being timid and highly strung, bolting just at the last minute.
Mary Ann Rogers is a self-taught artist, painting in watercolours from her home in Northumberland. Her work received the impressive award for 'Best Selling Published Artist 2009’ from The Fine Art Trade Guild - the latest in a line including Jack Vettriano, David Shepherd, Beryl Cook & Mackenzie Thorpe. The subjects of Mary Ann Rogers' pictures are often animals of the British countryside - though perhaps not the elephant! - and the menagerie of unwitting models with whom she surrounds herself. All her art brilliantly depicts the liveliness and quick energy of the subjects.
